One major road project gets started, another wraps up

87th Street Parkway project begins
Construction is underway on the project to improve 87th Street Parkway from Renner Boulevard to Haven Street in preparation of City Center.

The east and westbound lanes will be divided with developable city blocks between them. The new eastbound lanes will be constructed first; motorists should not be impacted during this phase of construction. The contractor is Miles Excavating. The entire project is expected to be completed by summer 2011.

Clare Road is open
Two projects to improve Clare Road between Prairie Star Parkway and 83rd Street are wrapping up. The road is now open, and crews are working on landscaping and cleanup. This project involves reconstruction of the existing two-lane street with curb and gutter, storm drainage, roundabouts, street lights and landscaping.
