City mourns loss of Councilmember Ramsey

Councilmember John Ramsey passed away on Nov. 14. Ramsey, a Lenexa resident since 1986, served as a Ward 1 city councilmember for 14 years. He was first elected in 1995, and was re-elected in 1999, 2003, and again in 2007 to serve successive four-year terms.

In addition to his service on the council, Ramsey also served on school PTAs and numerous other boards.

"Lenexa has lost a dear friend and a great public servant who cared deeply for our community," said Mayor Mike Boehm.
