Mayor honors five residents for volunteer work

Five Lenexa residents were inducted into the Lenexa Volunteer Hall of Fame at the Nov. 17 City Council meeting for their outstanding volunteer efforts to help the community. Ken Breidenbach serves as a police volunteer and also worked on the Lenexa 100 celebration committee; Kevin Kennedy has volunteered as a Boy Scout leader for more than 10 years and also leads efforts to collect food for the Lenexa food pantry; Kathy Mayer has delivered meals to homebound residents through Meals on Wheels; Jack Miller tutors students of all ages in math at Rising Star Elementary School; and, Dick Stilley volunteers at the Police Department.
