Lou Serrone appointed to fill Ward 3 vacancy on council

Lou Serrone, a Lenexa resident of 23 years and a former Lenexa city councilmember, was appointed to fill the vacant Ward 3 council position last month. The position had been held by Dan Sullivan, who resigned in October after 10 years of service on the council. Sullivan stepped down because he was moving out of the city.

Serrone previously served as a Lenexa councilmember for two four-year terms from 1989-1997. He also was involved with the Lenexa Chamber of Commerce, the Lenexa Economic Development Council and he is a graduate of Leadership Lenexa. In addition to his previous experience with the city, he also brings more than 25 years of commercial real estate experience.

Pursuant to city code, Mayor Mike Boehm appointed Serrone on Nov. 17 with the City Council’s consent. He will serve until the next regular city election in 2011.

Mayor Boehm welcomed Serrone to the council and praised former Councilmember Sullivan for his years of dedicated service and leadership.
