A STOP Sign is a very valuable and effective traffic control device when used at the right time and under the right conditions. The purpose of a STOP sign is to assign right-of way at an intersection. In other words, it’s intended to help drivers decide who has the right-of-way as they approach an intersection.

Traffic Signals play a very important role in one’s daily activities whether it’s during the commute to work or to a soccer game after school. Traffic signals can offer several benefits if installed at the right location and under the right conditions. To enable traffic engineers to determine where the right location is, the Federal Highway Administration has developed a series of guidelines known as “traffic signal warrants” that are based on factors such as traffic volumes and speeds, accident history and pedestrian activity.
