Ad Astra Park
Ad Astra Park is a 10-acre park located at 8265 Maurer Road, next to Christa McAuliffe Elementary School.

Amenities:
Ad Astra Park has one reservable shelter, one restroom facility, natural area, one playground area, one large swimming pool with diving area, .2 mile of jogging/walking trail which connects to Stone Ridge Trail to the north, and a large open play area.

Shelter Rental:
Ad Astra Park shelter is reservable for groups up to 80 people. The shelter includes two BBQ grills, 10 picnic tables (80 people seated), electricity, water fountain, restrooms located at the pool, close parking and trash receptacles. History:
Ad Astra means "to the stars" and is part of the Kansas State motto "Ad Astra per aspera" which means "to the stars with difficulty."

Christa McAuliffe was killed in a space shuttle explosion. She would have been the first teacher in space.
