The following penalty is a guideline for what can be expected if you are found guilty of a city code violation. However, please be aware that certain provisions of city code do carry penalties specific or unique to only one chapter, article or section. In those instances, that penalty would prevail. Below is the general penalty which would apply when it refers to Code Section 1-1-C-3:

Whenever any offense is declared by any provision of this Code, absent a specific or unique punishment prescribed, the offender shall be punished in accord with this Section:

A. A fine of not less than one dollar ($1.00), nor more than twenty five hundred dollars ($2,500).

B. Imprisonment for not more than one (1) year.

C. Both such fine and imprisonment not to exceed subsections A and B above.

D. Those found guilty of violating any provision of this Code may have all licenses and permits issued by the City revoked.

E. Each day that a violation continues is deemed to be a separate offense.
