Driving While Suspended Amendment Information
You are currently charged with Driving While License Canceled, Suspended or Revoked in the Lenexa Municipal Court.
You MAY be eligible to have this charge amended to a lesser offense dependent upon completion of certain criteria and approval by a City Prosecutor. If you are interested in amending your Driving While Suspended charge, the following items must be completed promptly.
Determine the current status of your driver’s license.
This can be accomplished by contacting the State Department of Revenue which issued your license, or by visiting a Driver’s License Exam Station.
Once you learn the reason that your license is suspended, canceled or revoked, you may be able to take steps in order to get the license reinstated to VALID status.

Obtain reinstatement of your driving privileges and bring proof of reinstatement to next court date.
Driver’s licenses are often suspended canceled or revoked for failing to appear in court, failing to pay fines and fees, failure to provide proof of mandatory insurance, in addition to other reasons. Your driving privileges must be reinstated prior to obtaining an amendment.
Bring adequate funds to pay for fines and fees.
If you desire to amend a Driving While Suspended charge to a lesser offense, the assessed fine is generally $300 + court costs and must be paid in full at the time of amendment.
