Public Improvement Projects

The public improvement projects page is your resource for up-to-date, detailed information about the projects that affect your neighborhood and our community.

The categories listed on this page represent capital improvement projects that are currently in progress, scheduled for the future, have recently been completed, are ongoing, or are equipment purchases. The Capital Improvement Plan is a five-year strategy and is reviewed on an annual basis; at which time each project is re-evaluated and project timelines, scope, and status may change. These changes allow the city flexibility in maintaining an effective level of service for the citizens.

Our residents expect exceptional quality of life and they have been supportive of investing in roads and parks to maintain that level of quality. In 2008, Lenexans approved a 3/8-cent sales tax increase to help maintain the city’s roads, improve existing park facilities, and provide new recreational opportunities.
