New interactive map shows details about development projects
Businesses, property owners, developers and prospective businesses now have an easy, new way to get information about development projects in the city of Lenexa.
The city launched an online interactive mapping tool earlier this fall that provides quick, user-friendly access to details about community development projects that currently are in the planning process.
The map is easy to use. Each active project that is in the planning process is identified on the map with an icon. Users simply have to click on the icon to get quick access to information including the project description and status, public documents from Planning Commission or City Council meetings, zoning information, relevant city codes, and analysis that will help the community be better informed about the development.
Users can navigate in a variety of ways including by address or place, and they can search by application type such as rezoning, plan, plat or special use permit. Currently the map does not include projects that are in the building phase. This first phase of the map is focused on planning activity, and city staff is working on future enhancements to this tool that may include building and code enforcement activity.
Lenexa’s community development map is available on the city web site at www.ci.lenexa.ks.us. For more information contact David Knopick, interim community development director at 913-477-7500.
