Lane restrictions on 87^th Street west of Renner continue through Dec. 9
Winchester Street expected to remain closed until the following weekend

Lenexa, Kan. – As work continues on the project to improve 87^th Street Parkway from Renner Boulevard to Haven Street, temporary traffic disruptions will be necessary during the next couple of weeks.

87^th Street Parkway west of Renner Boulevard is restricted to one lane for eastbound and one lane for westbound travel until this weekend. Crews anticipate opening travel to two lanes in each direction on Saturday, Dec. 3. In addition, Winchester Street is expected to be closed at 87^th Street Parkway through the following week and reopen on Dec. 9. Residents accessing the neighborhood may use Haven, Elmridge, Penrose or Renner as a detour.

During the week of Dec. 5 through 9, traffic will again be restricted to one lane for eastbound and one lane for westbound travel.

Final completion of this project is expected in late February. Motorists are reminded to drive with caution through this area. Construction crews are still working close to the drive lanes, and the posted speed limit is 30 mph.
