Lenexa jewelry show features work by area artists
The 3rd annual Cupid’s Gems Jewelry show, a juried event featuring the handiwork of 30 jewelry artists from the metro area and surrounding region, will be held on Feb. 6 – just in time for Valentine’s Day.
Visitors to the show can shop 30 booths featuring a variety of unique, handmade jewelry at a wide range of prices. The distinctive designs include repurposed Saint medals, both new and old; jewelry made from recycled porcelain as well as recycled sterling silver and 14k gold; soldered pendants with a neo-Victorian look; polymer clay pins and earrings; plus, jewelry created using copper, natural stones, enamels, antique buttons and cufflinks. Shoppers may also select items made using silversmithing and metal stamping techniques or embellished with pyrographic designs.
The event takes place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 6, at the Lenexa Conference Center. Adrian’s Café will offer menu items for purchase in a bistro-like eating area located on the ground floor of the conference center from 10 a.m. until approximately 3 p.m. that day. The Lenexa Conference Center is located inside the beautifully restored historical Thompson Barn, just south of the intersection of College Boulevard and Lackman Road. There is plenty of free, onsite parking and admission to the show is free. For more information, call the Lenexa Community Center at 913.477.7100.
