DEFINED BENEFIT PLANS
The City participates in the Kansas Public Employees Retirement System (KPERS) and Kansas Police and Fire (KP&F) where both the employee and the City contribute based on the employee's annual salary. The retirement benefit is based on the final average salary and years of service.
Deferred compensation is available to employees on their first day of employment. The program is administered through either ING or ICMA-RC allowing employees to contribute money into a pre-tax retirement account. Both plans offer a variety of investment options.
