Great Lenexa Barbeque Battle is June 21-22
Get ready for some barbeque! The Great Lenexa Barbeque Battle, Presented by SureWest, is just around the corner, and the public is invited to partake in the festivities. Councilmember is Lee Jeans Denim Day National Ambassador
Lenexa Ward 3 Councilmember Amy Slater was chosen to be the National Ambassador for the Lee National Denim Day Campaign aimed at fighting breast cancer. Slater is featured with friends (including Lenexa Ward 2 Councilmember Diane Linver) on Lee’s Denim Day website. Lee National Denim Day invites employees to wear their jeans to work on Denim Day in exchange for a $5 contribution to the fight against breast cancer. This year’s day is Oct. 4, 2013. 79th Street construction continues
Construction on 79th Street between Lackman and Pflumm remains in Phase 2 of the project, where the roadway is closed from Pflumm to Cottonwood. Due to delays, including weather, construction is approximately two weeks behind schedule. City staff and the contractor anticipate to recoup this lost time during the drier summer months.
Phase 3 is scheduled to begin approximately the first week of July. During Phase 3, 79th Street will remain closed to through traffic however, with the the roadway between Cottonwood and Alden completely closed. For more information, click here.
